Differentability2 — Founder’s Story

DifferentAbility2 was born in a season of deep grief, reflection, and divine direction. Shortly after losing my 90‑year‑old grandmother, the matriarch and spiritual anchor of our family, I found myself sitting alone in a coffee shop, overwhelmed and searching for clarity. In that quiet moment, God placed a clear prompting on my heart: Create a Google account for Differentability.

I didn’t understand the assignment, but I obeyed.

Over the months that followed, God revealed the vision piece by piece. What began as a simple act of obedience became a calling rooted in purpose, advocacy, and community. My first reaction was, “God, no way. You have the wrong Jasmine.” But when God calls you, you can’t outrun it. Three years later, I am walking boldly in the purpose He set before me, sharing our story and building a movement that uplifts families like mine.

My name is Jasmine, and I am a single mother of three incredible neurodivergent children. My sons are 23 and 13, and my daughter is 8. Each of them has been diagnosed with ADHD, and my daughter, born with Down syndrome, received her ADHD diagnosis last year. Four years ago, I received my own ADHD diagnosis as well. Our home is beautifully diverse, joy‑filled, and shaped by lived experience with disability and neurodiversity.

Three years ago, we moved an hour away from my support system. Shortly after, we lost my grandmother. Even surrounded by caring people, I often felt deeply alone. As I navigated grief, I recognized a familiar ache, the loss of what I imagined life would look like, the uncertainty, the unanswered questions, and the quiet loneliness that can exist even when you have support.

I began to wonder how many other families were living this same reality.

That’s when I understood the “why” behind DifferentAbility2. How many families are carrying these same emotions? How many are searching for connection, understanding, and hope? How many need to be reminded that we were not created to do life alone, and that we are created different by design? (Genesis 2:18; Psalm 139:14)

DifferentAbility2 exists to change the conversation around disability and neurodiversity. Our mission is to promote awareness, inspire inclusion, and build community through storytelling, advocacy, and purpose‑driven products. We want every family to feel seen, supported, and empowered, never alone in their journey.

This brand is more than apparel. It’s a faith‑rooted movement grounded in compassion, representation, and the belief that every ability, every different ability, is God‑designed, valuable, and worthy of celebration.

Together, we rise. Together, we belong. Together we win.
